Tattoos
Ask about tattoos. The Ichinoyu group page contradicts itself on one page. Section 'タトゥーのあるお客様のご利用につきまして' says the group does not in principle refuse tattooed guests' stays and asks them to cover tattoos in the large bath and public spaces; cover stickers are sold at the front desk, 330 yen each, 114 mm x 114 mm. But Article 17 of the bath manners list (入浴マナー 十八箇条) on the same page says people with 入れ墨 are refused entry even with tattoo stickers. Neither part says it applies only to day bathers or only to staying guests, so this could not be resolved; the sticker section mentions stays (ご宿泊), and the manners list sits in the day-trip bathing page. Group FAQ and Rakuten listing have no tattoo text. A blog (updated July 2026) says Ichinoyu, including Shinanoki, accepted tattooed guests. (recheck Oct 24). Earlier: Group page is contradictory. Tattoo section: the Ichinoyu group does not in principle refuse tattooed overnight guests, but asks them to cover tattoos in public baths; cover stickers sold at the front desk, 330 yen each, 114 mm x 114 mm, no stated limit on number. But the day-trip rules on the same page (Article 17) say people with tattoos are refused entry regardless of tattoo stickers. Day visitors should ask before going.
